United will be the first team to pull in 70,000 fans to a premiership game this weekend.  That is if they can find the customers to buy the tickets, however, it may be a task to much, with the game due to be broadcast on  Sky at 4pm on Sunday.

United are saying that the increase in revenue from the added capacity will be used to compete with moneybags Chelsea in the market.  United are expected to pull in an extra 34,000 fans per home game than Chelsea.

With only two days to go before the Birmingham game, United are struggling to sell tickets.  This is in stark contrast to previous seasons when united home games sold out at least a month prior to the game.

With less than capacity attendances for this season’s, cup games and an early exit from the Champions League.  It is understandable that united’s most loyal fans are duly concerned that the club has a growing debt in excess of £650 million and rising cost of season tickets with no loyalty reward.

  • Will the Glazer family have time to redress their financial standing with the lenders?
  • Can Glazer afford to have another disappointing season in the Champions League?
  • How much is available to spend on new players in the summer break?
  • Is this going to be a long summer for the Glazers?

These are just some of the questions and concerns being raised by some united fans.

Is this a sign of nervous times for the Glazer family, as the season draws to a close and revenue is required for Glazer to facilitate the debt he placed upon Old Trafford?
