Fergie is set to recall Giuseppe Rossi from his loan spell at Newcastle United. Fergie is reported to have lost patience with Glenn Roeder after Rossi has spent many games on the bench.

Ferguson claimed that he expected Rossi to be playing first-team football, and if he is to warm the bench anywhere, it may as well be at his own club.

Even though Newcastle have had Ameobi and Martins injured, Rossi has only played 8 games for the Magpies and only 4 of these were starts.

The loan, which runs out of Janauary 1st, is not likely to be extended by Alex Ferguson.

Fergie said:"Giuseppe will come back to us because he is just not getting enough football at Newcastle,"

"The understanding we had with them was that he would play more games.

"Every manager is subject to their own opinions on players, so I don't want to say too much about that. But we could have done with him here, so he might as well come back to us."
