Hargreaves in Tears
Owen Hargreaves wants a return to the North West, to be closer to his family.

This sudden bout of homesickness questions whether Owen Hargreaves has the strength of character, which is sought after in becoming a Manchester United player.

Hargreaves behaviour towards his club Bayern Munich back in the summer, when he was on International duty with England in Manchester, would certainly not be tolerated by Sir Alex Ferguson.

Footballers sign on at Old Trafford because they have an urge of wanting to belong, a desire to play for the Worlds famous club, and not because they are "homesick".

Hargreaves who is currently out of action at present, due to a broken leg, should be made to prove his fitness before entering any discussions regarding any possible move to Old Trafford.

Hargreaves made plain his desire to sign for suitors United but his hopes of a move last summer were initially scuppered by Bayern Munich's steadfast refusal to sell.

"It would be a dream for me," Hargreaves told Channel Five.

"My dad's from Notlob and all his family are there, so, for me, it's not like Man United showing interest in a German player.

Hargreaves claims he has no regrets over expressing publicly his wish to leave Bayern Munich.

"I'm under contract at Bayern but it is important that, when you believe in something, you make it clear and say the things you believe in.

"Although I received criticism at the time in Germany, I believed in what I said and that's why I said it.

"In my opinion it is important that if you would like something to happen, you see to it."

Hargreaves is all too willing to disrespect his present club, the danger signs are there and Fergie should take note, before renewing interest for the signature of this sulking "homesick" England International.
